Hello, dear reader. My name is Gabriela Avelino. I’m a storyteller who searches for tales in all the dark and lovely places. I salvage them from haunted shorelines, scour for them in the dark between stars. I give them a place to burrow and take root, and once they’ve bloomed, I give them a home in the pages of this blog.
The Midnight Diaries is a collection of tales I’ve conjured up in the nocturnal hours. There are ghosts, sirens, spirits, tricksters. Lovers and liars and girls born with shadows in their hearts. There are things that haunt me in the dead of night, but things that illuminate the night too—bits of hope and wonder and passion and love, glimmering bright as stars in the dark.
My hope is that taking a peek through this blog feels a bit like sifting through the pages of a dusty old leather-bound book. You can smell the pages, feel them settle like dust on your skin. You’re not quite sure what curiosities you’ll find—but the tales within will haunt and mesmerize in equal measure.
